Noah and his family waited 40 days and nights while the rain fell.
Moses waiting on Mount Sinai 40 days and nights, fasting before the Lord.
Israel wandered 40 years in the wilderness, learning to trust in God's provisions.
Following Jesus' baptism, he was driven into the wilderness by the Spirit,
where he stayed for 40 days and nights, fasting, wrestling with his identity,
talking to his Father, preparing himself for the most challenging ministry ever.
Jesus then faced temptations, in his weakest condition, and prevailed.
He then moved out to call, teach, touch, love, seek His Father, & embrace the world.
That preparation was for a reason.
Solitude... Understanding... Relationship... Self-Awareness... Dependence on God.
Hear your invitation to go to the wilderness during this Lenten season, 40 days before Easter.
Seek new ways to listen and open yourself before God, who wants to be known.
